View From the Cab - Flemington Maintenance Centre

This was a 4 Car M Set. It was positioned on the "Loop" road at Flemo Maint Centre. After clearence from the shunter I sound the Horn and make an Inching Movement, a small movement of the train to alert anyone on or near the train that it is about to move. Sound the Horn again and I'm off. At about 45 seconds I pass 2 of the Shunters (wearing the Lime Green Safety Vests) chatting to a couple of other shed drivers (wearing the orange Safety Vests) There is a 13kph speed limit within the yard so I continue on past the maintence and admin buildings at this speed and on towards the 'Stop' boards at around 1:38. I've already been given clearance by the shunter and the signals are cleared so I don't need to stop but can continue on to the Shunting Neck I enter the Shunting Neck at about 2:10 and start to slow due to the Buffer at the end of the road. As this is only 4 cars there is no need to go all the way down to the end of the road. Pull up and fumble with the camera before I manage to shut it off. [ voir sur Youtube.com ]

During the 2010 APTA Rail Conference, delegates were given the opportunity to take a technical tour of the Skytrain Operations and Maintenance Centre (OMC). This is a video of part of the ride on the way to the OMC, where our host attendant gave information about the region and system. Canada Line: Bridgeport(-ish) to Langara-49th

Filmed on a typically Lower Mainland rainy day, from just after Bridgeport station, the junction of the YVR-Airport branch and the Richmond-Brighouse branch. We are passing under Hwy 99's Oak St Bridge and by the Operations and Maintenance Centre, with an out of service train parked on its approach tracks, over the transit/pedestrian-only bridge over the North Arm of the Fraser, then onto the alignment of Cambie St, as we stop at Marine Drive before tunnelling under the street and arriving at Langara-49th.
